Terms and Conditions
The terms governing registration, purchases, course access, assessments, certificates and use of our learning platform.
Terms governing your use of the platform
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the CPD212 website, learner platform, online courses, assessments, certificates and related services.
By creating an account, purchasing a product, accepting course access or using the platform, you agree to comply with these terms and any policies expressly incorporated into them.
Read these terms before making a purchase. Where you do not agree with them, you should not register, purchase or use the relevant service.
About these terms
These terms apply to the public website, learner accounts, course purchases, course bundles, assessments, certificates, transcripts, invoices and other services made available through CPD212.
Additional conditions may be displayed for a particular product, promotion, employer-funded enrolment or organisational arrangement. Where additional conditions apply, they form part of the agreement for that service.
Our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Refund Policy should be read alongside these terms.
Eligibility and account creation
You must provide complete and accurate information when registering or purchasing a course. You must not impersonate another person or create an account using information you are not authorised to use.
The platform is intended primarily for adult learners. An organisation seeking to enrol a learner under 18 should contact us before registration so that suitability, authority and any applicable safeguarding requirements can be considered.
Learner accounts
Personal use
An individual learner account is personal to the registered user and must not be sold, shared, transferred or used by another person.
Login security
You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for notifying support promptly if you suspect unauthorised account access.
Accurate details
Your name and other account information must remain accurate because they may be used on certificates, invoices and learning records.
Account activity
Activity performed through your account may be treated as authorised unless you previously informed us that the account or credentials had been compromised.
Orders and contract formation
Course listings and prices displayed on the website are an invitation to place an order. A binding contract is normally formed when payment has been accepted and we confirm the order or provide course access.
We may decline or cancel an order before access is supplied where there is a pricing error, suspected fraud, an unavailable product, a technical error or another legitimate reason. Any payment taken for a cancelled order will be returned where appropriate.
You should review the product description, price, access duration, included courses and other material information before submitting payment.
Course access
Course access normally begins after payment has been confirmed or after access has been granted by an authorised administrator or sponsoring organisation.
Where a product has a stated access period, that period normally begins on the enrolment date unless the product description or written confirmation states otherwise.
- Course access is limited to the registered learner.
- Access may require a supported browser, internet connection and compatible device.
- Course availability does not guarantee uninterrupted access at every moment.
- Expired access may require a new purchase or approved extension.
Course content and learner responsibilities
Learners are responsible for reading the course information, progressing through the required lessons and completing learning activities honestly.
Course duration and CPD hours are estimates or assigned learning values. Actual completion time may vary according to the learner’s prior knowledge, reading speed and study approach.
Unregulated CPD courses
Unless expressly described otherwise, courses supplied through the platform are unregulated professional development courses. A completion certificate does not by itself constitute a regulated qualification, professional licence, statutory approval or permission to perform regulated work.
Assessments
Assessments must be completed independently by the registered learner. Questions, answer options and assessment materials must not be copied, recorded, shared or published.
Multiple-choice assessments may be marked automatically. The configured pass mark determines whether an attempt is recorded as passed or not passed.
Assessment misconduct
We may investigate suspected cheating, answer sharing, impersonation, account sharing, automated submissions, unauthorised assistance or manipulation of assessment and progress records. Access or certification may be withheld while an investigation is completed.
Certificates and CPD transcripts
Certificate eligibility
Certificates are issued only when the configured course requirements and assessment pass mark have been met.
Learner details
Certificates use account and achievement information. Learners must check that their registered name is accurate before completion.
Verification
Certificate references may be checked through the platform’s public verification service.
Correction or revocation
A certificate may be corrected, withdrawn or marked invalid where issued in error, based on inaccurate information or obtained through misconduct.
Prices and payments
Prices, discounts and applicable taxes are displayed before payment is submitted. Unless stated otherwise, prices are shown in pounds sterling.
Payments are processed by the payment provider shown during checkout. We do not normally receive or store your complete payment-card number or card security code.
Discount codes are subject to their stated conditions, eligibility, expiry date and usage restrictions. A discount cannot normally be exchanged for cash or applied retrospectively.
Refunds and digital content
Cancellation and refund requests are assessed under our Refund Policy and applicable consumer law.
Where digital content is supplied immediately, the change-of-mind cancellation position may depend on whether the consumer expressly consented to immediate supply and acknowledged the effect on the cancellation right.
Separate legal remedies may apply where digital content is faulty, not as described or does not meet applicable statutory requirements.
Read the Refund and Cancellation PolicyIntellectual property
The website, course content, assessments, videos, graphics, downloads, certificates, software and platform materials are owned by or licensed to their respective rights holders.
Purchasing access grants the registered learner a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable permission to use the relevant materials for their own learning during the permitted access period.
Acceptable use
You must use the website and platform lawfully and must not interfere with its security, operation or other users.
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or administrative functions.
- Do not upload malware, harmful code or automated attacks.
- Do not scrape, reproduce or systematically extract platform content without written permission.
- Do not submit false, abusive, defamatory or unlawful information.
- Do not use the platform to commit fraud or facilitate misconduct.
Platform availability and changes
Maintenance
Access may be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, backups, security work or emergency repairs.
Technical failures
Hosting, internet, browser, device or third-party failures may temporarily affect availability.
Course updates
Course content may be corrected or updated to improve clarity, relevance, security or technical compatibility.
Discontinued products
We may withdraw a course from future sale. Existing learner access will be managed reasonably and in accordance with contractual and statutory obligations.
Professional information and liability
Courses provide general professional-development information. They do not replace workplace-specific instruction, risk assessments, employer procedures, legal advice, medical advice or advice from an appropriately qualified professional.
Learners and employers remain responsible for determining whether a course is suitable for their needs and for complying with workplace, licensing, regulatory and legal requirements.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
Consumer protections remain applicable
These terms do not exclude statutory requirements relating to digital content, including requirements that qualifying digital content be of satisfactory quality, fit for an applicable purpose and as described.
Suspension and termination
We may temporarily suspend access while investigating suspected fraud, account compromise, payment reversal, misconduct, security threats or serious breaches of these terms.
Access may be terminated where a serious or repeated breach is established. Where appropriate, we will consider the nature of the breach, available evidence and any reasonable explanation before taking permanent action.
Suspension or termination does not affect rights and obligations that arose before the action was taken.
General terms
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms where services, law, technology or operational requirements change. Material changes affecting an existing contract will be handled in accordance with applicable law and fairness requirements.
Severability
If part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply so far as legally possible.
No waiver
A delay in enforcing a right does not necessarily mean that the right has been waived.
Transfer
You may not transfer your account or contractual rights without written permission. We may transfer the agreement as part of a legitimate business reorganisation or transfer, provided your legal rights are not reduced.
Third-party rights
Unless expressly stated, a person who is not a party to the agreement does not have a right to enforce these terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in the part of the United Kingdom or other jurisdiction where the consumer is resident.
We encourage users to contact support first so that complaints or disputes can be reviewed and, where possible, resolved without formal proceedings.
