Course Description

Emergency First Aid at Work eLearning is a 4-hour e-learning course designed to provide learners with the underpinning knowledge required before attending practical Emergency First Aid at Work training.

The course covers the role and responsibilities of a first aider, workplace first aid arrangements, assessing an emergency, primary and secondary surveys, dealing with an unresponsive casualty, the recovery position, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), choking, wounds and bleeding, shock, seizures, burns, scalds and minor injuries. These topics reflect the areas covered within the supporting Emergency First Aid at Work eBook.

Learners will develop the knowledge needed to recognise common first aid emergencies and understand the appropriate actions to take until professional medical assistance is available.

Important: This online course does not provide the full Emergency First Aid at Work qualification by itself. It is intended as the online theory component of blended or in-house training. Learners seeking the full EFAW certificate must attend the required face-to-face practical training and successfully demonstrate the required first aid skills and competencies.
